The Nigerian Military has stated it has arrested the Second-in-Command to the neutralised commander of the Indigenous Folks of Biafra (IPOB) and the Jap Safety Community (ESN) in Aba city in Abia State in the course of the raid.
The military arrested 48-year-old Awurum Eze, a local of Umoneke Nta within the Isiala-Mbano Native Authorities Space of Imo State.
The Director, Military Public Relations, in a launch stated, Eze had escaped from his village on Could 4 when the operatives of Intelligence Response Group (IRT) stormed his village home in Isiala Mbano the place he was hiding.
He stated, “The Second-in-Command to the neutralised IPOB/ESN Terrorist chief Ikonso, Awurum Eze, has been arrested by safety operatives in Aba, Abia State.
“The 48-year-old Awurum Eze, a local of Umoneke Nta, Isiala-Mbano LGA, Imo State, had on the 4th of Could, 2021 escaped when operatives of Intelligence Response Group (IRT) stormed his village home in Isiala Mbano the place he was hiding.
“Intensive manhunt was thereafter launched in direction of tracing and arresting him. He was ultimately apprehended on Wednesday, Could 12, 2021, in Aba after weeks of unrelenting follow-ups by operatives.
“Awurum Eze is among the important sponsors of the quite a few killings in Imo State and has been on the needed checklist of safety brokers for greater than 3 months.
“Lots of the arrested IPOB /ESN terrorists had earlier talked about him as their key sponsor, mastermind and Second-in-Command to the late Ikonso.
